# NYC Mesh - Why and How

We participate in NYC Mesh for its social structure (volunteer-run mutual-aid not-for-profit), for its security stance (document vulnerabilities openly, privacy-respecting). Participation includes us sharing our connection with our neighbors (currently Future Space, and another community member), and at least 2 others neighbors.

**First Month Feedback**

> slow during video calls

- compare network performance inside a phone booth to outside
- try placing AP high up
- check if there is some client-side issue (check association details)
- run performance tests and check if there is some social behavior (are video calls during lunchtime?)
- setup wan bonding with verizon?
- vibecoded wifi driver is the bottleneck?
