Motivation (why are you proposing this?)
- We need ways of communicating with the broader community who is interested in what is happening at RC outside of Instagram and the website because not everyone has an Instagram and we can get announcements out quickly via signal.
Proposal summary
- The RC Community Announcements Chat (RCCAC) is a one way announcements-only Signal chat that broadcasts upcoming events, open hours, closures, asks for labor and volunteers, asks for donations, etc. Anyone can join the chat to receive announcements (you don't have to be in a working group or committee).
- The 585 Emergency Council chat can be recycled to become RCCAC. The chat settings will have to be changed to "announcements only" and new admins will have to be designated if current 585 Emergency Council chat admins don't want to fulfill the duties listed below.
- "RC Community Announcements Chat" is just a temporary name to describe the functionality of the chat. Cuter chat name suggestions are welcome!
