sy: woodshop and hackerspace utilize the same space but it doesn't really make sense for us to be lumped into the same group just because we use the same area. Sy started feeling more empowered to take up space when it became a rent-paying arrangement. open to
llama: jessie was there before all of us. there's a long backlog of conversations of projects that got dropped. there was good ventilation in the space at one point
llama: wants to do ventilation again, get ooza and other machines operational again
the fact that wb had no clear process for infrastructural improvements caused this to stall repeatedly
maria: involved with wb since 2017, interested in learning or even just supporting the working group. can be the person to talk to get clarity on communications w/ matt.
micro: interested in small scale manufacturing, hosting workshops, teaching digital security. has other spaces to fulfill personal needs for maker stuff. has been maintaining digital infra, has lately been fighting ai bots scraping the site and that's why some things have been down. wants people to get hands on experience, giving them permission to break things.
daniel: first came to wb for the reading group, got involved with basement in winter after getting into modular synths and some 3d prints. wants to get more people enjoying access once the asbestos is clear
paul: interested in a space for technical skillshares. wants to reband to be less tied to the physical location on the basement.
josh: apologizes for the name "basement". is happy the space still exists and has interest / activity after being gone a for a while. stresses there will be waxing and waning in membership
cal: interested in communizing the maintenance of maintenance of tools in the space. have machines with multiple people who have the domain knowledge to fix them is better than private ownership.
HOPE
we are invited to table at hope
we can't use the name Woodbine anymore
how do we tell people to plug in, come to dinner? come to the basement?
asbestos
we were all ready to go before the transition
cleaning out the front area didn't happen, we need to clear shit out finally
