Password manager research

How many users? Estimating at least 1 per working group + 1 per spokes group so maybe like 18 people?

Goals include resiliency and self-sufficiency.

Bitwarden - $4/mo/user without SSO, $6/mo/user with SSO. Vaultwarden is self-hosted for $0, as is bitwarden official which still costs the same. Supports export and import. Apps are fine, not great. Team has good reputation.

1password - $8/mo/user. not self-hostable. does support export and many other password managers can import directly. A little bit dated but popular.

keepass - Just passing a file around. Free and error prone. Native apps for so many platforms, would have to come up with our own backup/distribution methods. Could self-host the file I guess?

just share passwords with the three people who need them on a piece of paper or in personal devices - free, easy, wont scale up but we are not at the scale that needs it now
